The endocrine system
The endocrine system is this really big group of glands that all contribute to keeping your body in a normal state.
Pituitary glandThe Pituitary Gland is known as the Master Gland since it basically controls the rest of the endocrine system and affects all of the hormone functions throughout the body.
Thyroid glandThis gland has two hormones that is secrets in order to help your body in metabolism, growth and it's development.

Hypothalamus Produces hormones, that control the rate of secretions in the Pituitary Gland. The Hypothalamus is part of both endocrine and nervous systems. You can think of it as the messenger between the two systems. When stimuli in your nervous system are triggered (like emotions and the 5 senses) it takes that info and "reports" it back to the glands in the endocrine system so then your body can make the right responses.

Pineal gland
This gland secrets a hormone called melatonin. Melatonin is important to maintain in your body because it regulates your sleep and wake cycles.
adrenal gland
This gland produces a variety of steroidal hormones to promote your body in actions and movements.
THe immune system
Your immune system keeps your body from getting sick.
Bone marrowHere in the bone marrow is where all of the immunes system's specialized cells are made and they mature here until they are ready to go out start fighting off bacteria in your blood!

ThymusThis is tiny organ that turns lymphocyte precursors in to thymocytes. Then they change in to T-Cells.

lymph nodes and t-cellsThe Lymph Nodes have an important job of filtering out bad materials within the Lymph Fluid
Then we have the T-Cells. Now there are 2 kinds of T-Cells, helper cells and killer cells. The basic job of the helper cells is to regulate your immune system. The killer cells attack other infected cells in your body and sometimes it helps out white blood cells in getting bacteria so that your body doesn't get sick. |
